If you haven't watched 'Conan Must Go', you must! Especially the Norway segment but all of them, really. And the opening bit with voiceover by Werner Herzog is so great! Mark and I found ourselves in a sushi restaurant in Paris a long time ago and at the bar a few stools down was Donald S!! He asked to borrow my pen. We played it cool. Then in a completely different area of town a day or two later, we saw him again!
My husband and I also wanted to pay tribute to Donald Sutherland so we watched M*A*S*H. That was not the best choice. As much as I appreciate the film making of Robert Altman what a strange, disjointed film. It was the 70's after all, and the height of the Vietnam War which must have been the reasons for its huge success. Sutherland was great in the role though, as I believe he was in every role he played.
On the movie Klute, one of my favorite Jane Fonda films, you are right about the title except that the name, Bree, is just not as interesting as the name, Klute. Though Bree is the main character of the film, and Jane won an academy award for that part and deservedly so, for movies, title is everything. And D. Sutherland is one of favorites as well. Great actor!
Yes on Bree vs Klute. I also think there was a soupçon of misogyny in the title. I think viewers were supposed to think Klute was amazing because he loved Bree despite her sex worker status and her drug use. He was her savior!

We now have Eye of the Needle in our queue. More soon! xN
We watched Eye of the Needle last night. I love the slow build-up of an 80's thriller -- lots of tension for sure. Thanks for the recommendation.
Oh my gosh! That is terrific to hear. We watched The Dirty Dozen last night and it was not my fav. Thanks for reading my newsletter! xN
