Love that Catherine Price quote: "When we focus on delight we retrain our brains.” I choose boredom always, please. Here are two more fab food newsletters worth your time: Debora Robertson's Lickedspoon and Jenny Rosenstrach's Dinner: A Love Story. Lickedspoon is a vicarious thrill with a food writer living in the south of France - I love her market haul pics and she writes such lovely posts. Dinner: A Love Story always gives me ideas (for food and books) and, again, the vicarious thrill of city living. I don't need to go anywhere, ever, just stay in my little country nest and read good newsletters. (I wish Substack would let me tag these people in a comment, so they know they're getting love!)
Lol “There’s got to be a pony in here somewhere.” Also thank you for the nudge to pick my journal up, I needed that. Love all these reccos and your drawings are BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you for these terrific newsletter, suggestions and their annotations. I wish there were more hours in a day because they all sound outstanding. You’ve set my gears in my mind in motion. Thank you!
So many great suggestions including your mezze plate! I was just telling my husband this morning I have no interest in meat these days and we talked about other options. (We watched the show too and told friends about it!) I’ve just started getting into writing in a journal again and feel more freedom just adding quotes I like, thoughts I have, questions, gratitude lists.....it’s a mishmash but kinda fun and helpful to look back on especially when I am having a tough day. Thanks as always for all your positive thoughts and suggestions! 💕
