Hi Natalie. Glad to see you enjoying the French life! I don't have a spice recipe but I wanted to thank you for the two mini essays you opened with. I love Tomato on Board--probably my favorite chapter in Ross Gay's Book of delights. I've used it in classes many times. I hadn't read Naomi S. Nye's Gate A-4--thanks for sharing, love that too. I'm about to do some traveling which entails several flights. I would like to have a gate-waiting experience like hers!

Those are both the world I want to live in!! Ellen Bass has an airport poem/essay that I love as well: https://poets.org/poem/gate-c22

Safe travels! xN

Vadouvan which you can purchase at Savory Spice located in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland. It’s a mild French curry that makes egg salad (and so many other things beyond yummy) truly enjoying Read.Write.Eat. Merci!

Your time in France sounds pretty perfect! I love roasted butternut squash (all winter squash, really) but my husband does not, so I end up with a lot of squash. One squash goes a long way.

True. But the Everything Bagel Spice could be a game changer!

my husband is addicted to trader joe's everything but the bagel. i seriously think he would melt down if we ran out! i am a huge fan of roasted butternut squash- by itself and in macaroni and cheese. it's one of my favorite food "discoveries" of the last twenty years right up there with roasted cauliflower.
