The picture at the top is of maritozzi! A Roman treat that goes back as far as ancient Rome. In modern history they were given by husbands (marito) to prospective brides 💗💗💗
Thank you for all the book recommendations, the prompts and the recipe! I enjoy cooking and haven't read any of those books, so look forward to reading them. The prompts... so much to say! Better get my journal and get writing!
It's a smoky day in Portland (so wish it was from grilling chicken rather than the ravages of wildfire), a great excuse for reading about cooking AND making your pasta with zucchini. Thanks for a day brightener on a day that would otherwise cast an eerie glow.
I included the Stanley Tucci memoir on my list too. His spaghetti and lentils recipe is now part of my regular rotation. I am going to add Stewart O’Nans book to my TBR. Thanks!
I read The Mistress of Spices years ago. I loved the story. It was so long ago, I might want to read it again. There's a few other foodie books on my TBR that I really should get around to reading one of these days.
Thank you for joining the fun today. I’m so excited about trying out some of your writing prompts and I needed the recipe because our zucchini plant is going crazy. (How can one plant produce so mucho fruit?) I second you on Blood, Bones & Butter. Read the Tucci and agree with your comments as well. The rest are going on my TBR.

I know! I loved them! I had one in Nice. and it was the closest thing I had to a cream puff! xoN
Oh my goodness so much fun!
Love and Saffron was amazing. My sister-in-law recommended it and so far she has never steered me wrong.
You and I apparently got the same vibe from Mr. Tucci's book. It was good but there's a lot of "extra" there.
The Mistress of Spices looks intriguing and has been added to the TBR, thank you!

I’m so delighted you enjoyed all of it! My work is done! xN
The writing prompts are a great bonus!
So glad you enjoy them!

The smoke is so hard. I hope the pasta brings a little bit of joy. xN

Now I'm hungry for that pasta and a creampuff!
