Hi Hi,

Welcome to jewels 💎just for you! A weekly bonus for paid subscribers where I share one wonderful thing…okay, possibly two 💛💛 !

Come on in!

🙌🏻 yes!

…

RETREAT!

This week I escaped to Friday Harbor, in the San Juan Islands, with my good writing pal. Jennie secured us a cottage and a study at the Whiteley Center where we had five days to hunker in, enjoy the surroundings, cook good food, share our work, and make inroads in our writing projects.

Gotta say, it’s hard to stay at a desk when tiny bays, and lavender farms…

alpaca ranches…

Why yes, this gentleman does look like Rod Stewart

winding roads and wooded trails beckon…

But sit I did.

I made winding inroads into my memoir, and I learned about the Japanese art of mending, Sashiko, which is a perfect metaphor for the writing I am doing. I have a passage to share with you!
