My heart aches for this little girl having to “be” an adult way too soon and yet still a girl seeking parenting and companionship … and she knows what she wants and needs and is very resourceful in how to achieve her ends. Very compelling exposition.

Perrotta/Irving similarity is interesting to consider. I could see their characters living next door to each other and having bbqs!
